Unforgettable diving at unbeatable prices.

This year, starting January 2012, we’re running two Special Dive Offers which run until 27 December 2012.

1. FIJI DIVE SPECIAL FROM DAKU RESORT AND L’AVENTURE JEAN MICHEL COUSTEAU

2. HAMMERHEAD DIVE OFFER

1. The first package allows you to come to Savusavu and dive Fiji’s fabulous coral reef at a fraction of the usual cost.

Known as the soft coral capital of the world, the reef around the Fijian Island of Vanua Levu provide a once in a lifetime experience. Diving in the South Pacific is a wondrous experience, as you swim at some of the world’s most abundant coral reefs teeming with multi-coloured fish and other forms of sea life. There’s easy access to a wide variety of sites: shallow reefs with spectacular plate corals, coral pinnacles topped with clouds of purple anthias and damsel fish, deeper reefs with steep walls dropping away to 800 feet and more where you may see some of the larger species. The joy of Fiji lies in its clear, warm waters and the easy access to the sites; most of them are 15 – 25 minutes in a boat. It’s no small wonder that the world famous Jean-Michel Cousteau has a dive base here, and have helped establish the Savusavu Marine Protection Park.

A pod of hammerhead sharks

A pod of hammerhead sharks

This package requires a minimum of 6 people.

Even though this package is designed for the committed diver, there’ll still be time to laze by the pool or go on a number of cultural and sporting excursions.

“Hammerheads are just the weirdest creatures.  I’ve seen all these photos of them so I was really excited to try to see them in the wild – which means in the sea. We went out to the site called Dreamhouse and dropped down onto the big coral reef at the mooring spot. Then Colin, the Dive Master, lead us across the reef (where we saw some good coral) and out into the blue. It’s a magic feeling  – you soon leave the reef and you feel as if you’re in the vast ocean of endless blue, just finning  along. We passed a school of barraduda, and we also saw a couple of batfish. One of the other divers got a bit spooked and turned back, so one of the Dive Masters took care of him. The rest of us (6) went on and suddenly we saw this flash of silver. I had no idea what it was but Colin lead the way nearer and then we saw a whole pod of them. At first it was difficult to make out anything much but then one of them turned round and you could see its strange squared off head with the eyes at each end – the typical hammer shape which gives it its name. We stayed with them for quite a bit – well, probably only a minute or two but it seemed like a long time – and then they just lot interest and disappeared. There must have been thirty or so – Colin reckons more because he is used to making out their shapes at a distance. But who’s counting? We saw them!”
